2nd IARU I.Region Subregional VHF/UHF Contest 2007 has better propagation condition as usual in this time of year. But extraordinary QRM distortions from neighborhood extra-power stations made in my locator JN88OD contesting very difficult. Sometimes I had broadband noise at S-meter 9 level spreaded over 200 kHz comming to my antenna from north direction.
Anyway I tried to do my best and I recognized very good hearing of Italian, German and Serbien stations. Because I liked to know how this contest was comparable to contests in previous years I made some evaluations from my master log. Years 1998 (portable operation in JN88XQ square) and 2006 (short time for contesting) do not have same comparation basis, but other years are more or less comparable. Important for final contest result are from my locator JN88OD valid contacts with DL, I and YU stations. This year total contest result 43308 (claimed), ODX with DF0OL (JO40BP 713 km) and many nice contacts around did some satisfaction for partially difficult operation. |
