ARRL Round Up 2011 - US northwest wanted PrintE-mail

Difficult conditions were present during ARRL (American Radio Relay League) RTTY Round Up Contest held on weekend 8.-9.1.2011, but my WAS (Worked All States) award hunt was partially successfull thanks to KB7Q (Montana) and KU1T (West Virginia) on 14 MHz reaching total count of 46 states (North Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho still missing). N7ESU (Idaho) was shortly on my screen but I could not break the big guns. I hope next time maybe it will be better.

Compared to the same contest one year ago final result was 20% better, mainly having more contacts/multipliers on 14 MHz reaching 23 US states and opening of 15m band.

Again here were contacts with 3V8SS (Tunisia / 14 MHz), E21YDP (Thailand / 14, 21 MHz) as well as 5C5W (Morocco / 14 MHz), HI3TEJ, HI3A (Dominican Republic / 21 MHz), DU1IVT (Phillipines / 14 MHz), and P49X Aruba on 7 MHz. After longer time it was also successfull contact to Andorra C31CT on 14 MHz.

Nice suprise was comming on Monday 10th Jan. 2011 (next day after the contest finish) when I found on ARRL Log of the World both new US states contacts KB7Q
(Montana) and KU1T (West Virginia). Many thanks to both OMs as well as to all contest participants.

Some years ago I found Joomla Content Management System (CMS) - fascinating open-source world-wide project as very good and solid basis for creating and maintaining of radio amateur web sites. I am very glad that number of friends, clubs and organisations utilize the power of Joomla CMS. Last time I recognized new fresh impressive pages of OM9OT Old-Timers Club SARA Web Site or OK2IEN Web Pages. For more interesting examples see my list of Selected Joomla Ham Web Sites .
