One week before great world CQ WPX RTTY contest I checked again my station setup in Mexico RTTY Contest 2008. Conditions on sun cycle totally down (flux 72) but surprise with J69DS.

Image Actually on 3rd Feb.2008 midday time came J69DS (St.Lucia Island / Caribbean) with nice signal strength on 20m band and after some while I had it in my log. At first time I could not allocate the callsign to specific part of the world. Then after the search in the WWW I found plenty of dreaming pictures and the exact island position.

Also J69DS has very nice web site with some informations.

Other surprise was C91R (Rodrigo CT1BXT in MOZAMBIQUE) alone on stone-deaf 15m band (wkd 10:26 UTC).

The rest of contest was business as usual. I am looking forward for CQ WPX RTTY contest on next weekend. I hope it shall be the one of top events of the year (maybe as usual).

More as one year ago I found Joomla Content Management System (CMS) - fascinating open-source world-wide project as very good and solid basis for creating and maintaining of radio amateur web sites. I am very glad that number of friends, clubs and organisations utilize the power of Joomla CMS. Last time I recognized new fresh impressive pages of OM9OT Old-Timers Club SARA Web Site or OK2IEN Web Pages. For more interesting examples see my list of Selected Joomla Ham Web Sites .
