- versions for Joomla 1.0.x framework
When you like to use the JotLoader component on your site(s) please select the proper type according the Joomla framework which you are using.

The differencies in class constructors between PHP4 and PHP5 were causing problems in previous 2.0.x versions of JotLoader. In ver.2.0.5 are necessary corrections for proper operation in PHP4 enviroment implemented. New security concept introduced in ver.2.0.4 is now implemented also during installation
when upgrading from oldier version of JotLoader (1.3.1 and before). |

Originally JotLoader component was developed to be used on public accessible sites for easy maintenance and downloading of files. Because of increasing demand for usage of this component on secured web sites with category and files privileged access here is suited solution with JotLoader ver.2.0.4 with extended security checks. Any hack on download category or file URL is not allowing unprivileged access to secured items. Security level is set for each download category by menu assignment in standart Joomla administration. With this solution here is no discrepancy between the frontend presentation and security user access settings. Another new feature of JotLoader ver.2.0.4 is the possibility to notify all changes (adding, updating, changing status, deleting) in the Bug Tracker messages via e-mail. E-mail setting are done in advanced JotLoader settings with assignment of choosen priviledged users e-mail addresses to the notification. Important Note when you are upgrading from oldier versions (1.2.x,1.3.x) :
Because of new security functions in the version 2.0.4 are old menu links to download categories not more valid. Here is necessary all these menu links to refresh to new version in following manner : go to Administrator/Menu Item Manager and open all menu items which points to download categories and SAVE. After this operation you can see the frontend presentation of assigned categories and files. This is temporary procedure. The final automatic upgrading of related menus shall be added in short time. |
